"To know Christ, and to make Him known."
The more complete statement, shown below, was adopted when we became a particular church.

Believing that Jesus Christ is the Head of His Church, and that He exercises that headship through the Word of God, the Scriptures of the Old Testament and the New Testament, we will seek to be a church always striving to conform herself to the picture of Christ's bride given in the Bible. We believe the Bible gives at least ten marks or characteristics that distinguish a true church of Christ.
A True Church -
  • Has Christ as her Head. (Ephesians 1:22; 5:23)
  • Has Christ as her Husband. (Ephesians 5:22-23; II Corinthians 11:2-4; Revelation 21:4)
  • Has Christ centered, Biblical preaching. (Acts 5:42; I Corinthians 1:18, 23; 15:12-14, II Corinthians 4:5; Luke 24:47; Galatians 1:6-9)
  • Has leaders who meet the Biblical qualifications. (I Timothy 3; Titus1; I Peter 5)
  • Observes the sacraments properly. (I Corinthians 10:14-11:34)
  • Disciplines those within who are living inconsistently with their commitment to Christ as Lord, or who are teaching false doctrine. (Matthew 18:15-18; I Corinthians 5; I Timothy 1:19-20; Titus 3:10; II Thessalonians 3:14, 15)
  • Has a genuine concern for the lost. (Matthew 28:19, 20; Acts 1:8)
  • Seeks to help its people grow spiritually so they can minister to one another. (Ephesians 4:11-16)
  • Evidences love in its midst. (John 13:34-35; I John 3:18; 4:7-21)
  • Is a worshipping church. (I Peter 2:9; John 4:24; Acts 2:42-47)
We therefore believe that God has brought us together to be a church to Him (worship), to one another (ministry), and to the world (witness). We desire to be all He designs us to be. And since the visible local church is made up of people saved by grace, yet in this world sinful and imperfect, we recognize that the reformed church must always be reforming itself according to the Word of God through the help of the Holy Spirit. Our purpose is to be Christ's Church.
